It doesn't matter "how" information is gathered, what matters is what we can do "with" the information. In education we spend the early years of formal education "learning to read" but by third or fourth grade to the end of our time in this space we must "read to learn". If a person struggles with the decoding/fluency process, have we predetermined the educational process?
What message do we want to pass on to our future leaders, policy makers, and society? It is time for educators to "rethink" the model and explore "outside the box" ideas.
